Introduction

Our insurance team is imperative to our office! They are in charge of a lot of things to help our patients have the best experience they can. At the moment, we have 4 main people who are a part of the team. 3 of them are remote and 1 is in the office. They are a part of the business team because everything we do is to support the patient as best we can before and after they see a clinical staff member.

Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Checking/rechecking benefits for every patient’s appointment
  • Sending insurance claims
  • Appealing denied insurance claims, finding supporting documents to send to insurance
  • Entering insurance payments 
  • Marking credits on accounts from over payments
  • Marking balances on accounts from under payments
  • Allocation of payments toward procedures after 60 days

Our insurance team works as hard as they can to advocate for our patients to ensure that they are maximizing their benefits. In this module, you will expand your knowledge on dental insurance as well as learn what happens when a claim is submitted and all the things that come with that. At the end of this module, you will see how hard this team works to help our patients.
