What are the different kinds of x-rays taken during appointments?
Panoramic
A full picture of all the teeth that will allow the doctors to see wisdom teeth, the jaw joint, and any potential pathology.

Full Series (billed as 4BW’s and 2 PA’s at MHS)
Allows us to see a more detailed full picture of all of the teeth (in the bone, under the gums, in between the teeth to check for cavities, etc).

Bitewings (BWs)
These are “cavity check” x-rays that allow us to see in between the teeth and bone levels around teeth.

Periapical X-rays (PAs)
These allow us to see a picture of the entire tooth from crown (top) to apex (tip of root). This helps the doctor to see any possible infection or decay in the roots of the teeth
