The Leadership Team
Dr. Marvelli
Dr. Marvelli grew up in Detroit, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan for undergraduate and dental school. She loved the way her childhood dentist connected with his patients and saw them grow up throughout the years, so he encouraged her to become a dentist. She dreamed of opening a practice where patients felt welcomed, heard, and connected to the team. Dr. Marvelli met Dr. Kamodia in dental school and they became best friends. Dr. Marvelli’s sister moved to Charlotte and encouraged Dr. M and Dr. K to move there and open a dental practice together. In 2019, after falling in love with Mint Hill, Dr. M and Dr. K opened their office together. Dr. Marvelli loves running (especially half marathons), rock climbing, and hot yoga. Dr. Marvelli’s whole family is now in North Carolina, where they enjoy the perfect weather and proximity to the beach and mountains.
Dr. Kamodia
Dr. Kamodia grew up in Upstate New York and went to college and dental school in Michigan. She took a gap year after her undergraduate degree and went to culinary school in Manhattan where she perfected her truffle mac 'n cheese recipe. She moved to Charlotte with Dr. Marvelli in 2019 where she met her husband at their favorite brewery- Resident Culture. They are backyard chicken farmers and they recently got a doodle puppy named Mango. With a baby on the way, they are still trying to find time for all their favorite activities like traveling, hiking, and sitting by the bonfire in their backyard.
Abagail
Abagail is from Charlotte, MI, and moved to the area in early 2024. She worked in the financing side of dentistry until life brought her to Mint Hill Smiles. Her favorite part of dentistry is helping each patient plan financially and schedule wise to achieve a healthy smile that they feel confident in. Now she helps the Business Team and leads to expand their knowledge and learn the best ways to help the local community. She is passionate about all of the clinical work and translating it in a language that everyone can understand. Abagail has a large close family, 4 sisters with many nieces and nephews, and it is only expanding as she is getting married in 2025. She is an avid reader and loves to laugh and make people smile.
Andrea
Andrea is originally from Rochester, NY, but moved to Charlotte in 2015 from Sarasota, Florida. She has been a Dental Hygienist since 2007, and is licensed in each state. She enjoys working alongside each patient helping find what works best to allow them to achieve and maintain their oral health. Andrea’s favorite part of working in dental is taking care of and calming patients with high anxiety. In her free time she loves camping with her husband and two kids, crafting, running, and cheering on her kiddos in their sporting events.
Chrissy
Chrissy is originally from Nashville, TN, but moved to Charlotte in 2023 from Franklin NC. She started her dental assisting career in January of 2023 and has continued to love it since. Her favorite part about dentistry is being able to connect with patients and connect with the team helping them grow and learn more. She loves that she can train and help new dental assistants be the best they can be! Mint Hill Smiles has taught her how to become a better leader, connect with patients, and see the value in all things dentistry. Chrissy now lives in Mint Hill with her Fiance and in her free time loves to roller skate, try new restaurants with family and read!
Amanda
Amanda was born and raised in North Carolina, and currently resides in Monroe with her husband. She graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management. She started her career in retail management specializing in human resources, and entered the dental world shortly after. With a background in dental consulting, treatment coordination, and business operations, she loves driving practice growth, team development and goal setting. Her passion is everything Human Resources and loves celebrating the team in any way she can. Her favorite part of working at Mint Hill Smiles is being able to impact the lives of our patients by finding and growing the best dental team out there! In her free time, Amanda loves to travel the world with her husband and spend time with her friends and family.
