As a new Business Team member in a new office you have hundreds of things to learn and everyone around you wants you to learn everything in the first couple weeks. We know this is unrealistic which is why we have this training program designed to guide you and focus your learning energy on the right things.
That also means you will be thrown into situations you are not prepared for. That is okay and part of the learning process. A lot of the things you will learn by reading and watching videos will only make sense after you have tried doing them and realize where you are struggling. An experienced front office team member will make scheduling in OpenDental and insurance breakdowns look easy. These are skills that will take a lot of practice to master and we know that you will eventually master them.
We don’t expect you to be perfect immediately, but we do expect constant growth and improvement. That means you need to be in control of your learning and training process. The resources are available to you and your front office team is eager to answer your questions and help you.
The Four Stages of Learning by Mint Hill SmilesDuring your first couple weeks you will spend most of your time in the unconscious incompetence and conscious incompetence sections at the bottom of the triangle. Remember that it’s okay and we are here to help you move into the conscious competence category as quickly as possible. Try to become consciously competent and master specific skills before moving onto new skills.
In this training program you are working on mastering checklists, open dental computer training, and Various Business Team responsibilities.
How quickly you move through the training modules will depend on how much time and effort you spend mastering skills. We expect you to complete the Business Team training course within your first 2 weeks or 30 days. Being in the front to observe, asking tons of questions, studying on your own, and being okay making mistakes and getting corrected along the way will speed up your learning process.
*We encourage you to take notes on processes with the notebook given to you. That way, you can reflect when you are more independent on how to do certain things. It is a lot to remember.
Good luck! We know you can do it!
