Mint Hill Smiles is built on checklists. Every single person in the practice has a daily checklist that they work from. Just like pilots who utilize checklists to reduce fatal errors and prevent plane crashes, we rely on checklists to bring attention to all the little details that improve patient care.
Some people take to the checklists right away and other people struggle to incorporate them into their daily routine. Becoming PROFICIENT and RELIABLE by utilizing the checklists we provide is a REQUIREMENT of working at Mint Hill Smiles.
This is very important – Not completing your checklist each day or checking things off without doing them will eventually lead to termination.
Business Team checklists are attached to whatever “seat” you are in for your shift. Additionally, the Business Team has a group checklist that all opening and closing team members are responsible for and individual checklists that are person-specific duties.
Below are the checklists associated with each role of the Business Team. One of the best things about our working schedule with our team is that there’s usually a counterpart to your role, someone on the opposite shift. While training, and even after, you have an hour of over lap scheduled time to “pass the baton” to that team member and that is an excellent time to ask any questions. If the questions can not be answered by your counterpart, you always can ask your team lead and they should be able to answer in detail how to do anything on the list. These lists are never set in stone, there is always a potential for them to be changed or added to, so it is important to go through the list physically every day.
