Importance of Patient Experience Coordinators
Our Patient Experience Coordinators have a very special role. They are the first team members to be seen by both new patients and returning patients. It is important that those team members are outgoing and energetic.
These team members are involved in every aspect of the new patient visit. They provide a full tour of the office, even the clinical areas, they make the gift bags we give new patients and they run the referral contest! The patient experience coordinator also checks in every returning patient and with smiles on their faces, they help us retain those patients. One of the main duties is to make and keep patient connections to ensure a great experience all around. Nothing beats seeing patients back in a few months, it’s like reconnecting with an old friend!
When checking in a patient, they look at treatment plans, health history requirements and consent forms for the patient to sign and complete before they are allowed to be taken to the clinical area to have treatment.
Another thing they do is by having our social media updated and fun. The patient experience coordinator replies to google reviews and even does a few Instagram posts a month! This helps us find both patients and potential future team members.
Their role expands what was listed above, and it is safe to say that the members in this position are invaluable. Through this module, you will learn how we check patients in and make sure all of the history and consent forms are set for us to complete treatment with the doctor’s and hygienist’s.
