What is a build up?
- A build up is done in addition to a crown when there is less than 50% of remaining healthy tooth structure once any decay is removed.
- The build helps the crown stay on the tooth because sometimes there is just not enough remaining natural tooth to allow the crown to stay on.
- The build up adds material around the healthy tooth structure to build it up and give the crown a good base.
