Routing Slip Hand-Off

  1. Patient will be introduced.
  2. Clinical team member will hand you this patient’s routing slip. Double check the following sections of this Routing Slip for accuracy of Handoff:

3. Clinical team member will mention if any necessary follow-up or next step appointments are scheduled or need to be scheduled, and if the patient is aware of the reservation deposit.

Verifying Completed Procedures

Clinical team members will review all procedures that the patient received during their visit. Pay special attention to which doctor completed exams and whether the appointment changed (e.g. surgical extraction changing to simple extraction, surface changes on fillings, adding/removing x-rays, etc) to ensure we bill the patient correctly and production is correct in Open Dental. Ask the clinical team member questions if you need additional information or clarification.
